Norfolk status Nationally Scarce. Locally found in Norfolk mainly on coastal saltmarshes, it has been fairly consistently recorded over the years, with between 10-30 recorded annually.
One of the larger 'sharks'.
Can be confused with the Mullein moth. Characteristic faint oval and kidney markings on the forewing are not found on the similar and more common Mullein moth. Star-wort also has a later flight time (Jun-Aug) than Mullein (Apr-May).
